Breakout New Adult sensation Monica Murphy returns with a hot new contemporary romance—a heartfelt story of second chances, forgiveness, and redemption.

Commitment. That’s what I really want from Colin. Ever since my brother, Danny, died in Iraq, Colin’s done so much to help me, including giving me a job at his popular restaurant so I can leave my crappy waitressing job at the strip joint. But lying in bed with him every night to comfort him from his horrible nightmares isn’t enough anymore. I know he feels guilty about Danny’s death, about not going to Iraq, but I can’t keep living this double life.
I love him desperately, but he’s got so many demons, and if he can’t open up to me now, then he’ll never be the real partner I need him to be. I gave him a month, and now I’m out of here. If he truly loves me like he says, he knows where to find me.

Colin and Jennifer share an intense and undeniable connection. A connection they both struggle to extinguish and due to the guilt and lament they carry from their pasts. This is a novel that from the moment I read Second chance boyfriend I was eagerly anticipating getting my hands on.

But Jen and Colin’s story was not how I imagined it would be, it was an unexpected tale of heartbreaking events that lead this couple towards one another and yet the very same circumstances that threaten to drive them apart.

Monica Murphy has once again created a beautifully gorgeous hero who imbues such tender qualities and also one who is the broken character, the guy carrying a devastating amount of guilt upon his shoulders. Colin is not only gorgeous because of his selfless need to protect and care for Jen, but also because he struggles to determine and compartmentalise his true feelings.

Jen was an interesting heroine, one who you cannot help but empathise with, especially for the heartbreaking situations she found herself in.

While this is a beautiful third instalment in the series, it left me wanting a little more from these characters, I wanted more of a build up and more of a conclusion to their incredible and tumultuous love story.
