Book Synopsis:
Life sucks. And, as soon as Sidney picks up the pieces something always knocks her back onto her butt. It’s never pretty, but this time is different. This time pretty isn’t even the right word.

Peter is the personification of perfection. It’s like he fell off his angel perch in purgatory, because let’s face it–any guy that hot has got to be naughty. He was probably sent here to ruin her life.

Peter is beyond beautiful with his sexy blue eyes, dark hair, and toned body. Add in his charming wit and Peter is everything Sidney ever wanted in a man, but when things get hot and heavy Peter shows her the door. Sidney takes the walk of shame and leaves. It’s the end of the worst blind date ever. Her life couldn’t possibly reach higher levels of suckage, but it does.

The next morning everything comes crashing down. The insanely hot guy from last night, the one that saw her half naked, is teaching at the front of the class room.

Damaged tells the story of Sidney, a young woman who is attempting to escape a past she would much rather forget in a new town. One night at her friend’s advice, Sidney agrees to a blind date. It is on this blind date that she inadvertently sits at the table of the stunningly handsome and gorgeous Peter. The chemistry that these two characters share is instantaneous and Sidney finds it difficult to walk away -as Peter does to inform her – he isn’t on a blind date. The story unfolds with the pair bumping into one another later in the evening, leading to an almost hot and very heavy encounter back at Peter’s apartment. When Peter’s past weighs heavy and he attempts to slow things down, Sidney fleas his apartment and never expects to see the gorgeous blue eyed man again. It is not until Sidney is walking into a lecture, that she discovers those same blue eyes staring back at her from the front of the lecture theatre. The intense attraction they shared doesn’t feel any less intense and the situation instantly becomes complicated. While these two characters embark on a journey to maintain the formal relationship, they find themselves struggling to fight the sexual attraction and feelings that consume them. And soon realise while it might be impossible to stay away from each other, being together might not be possible either.

Let me start off by saying this was my very first H.M Ward book, and I loved it. This is a story about two damaged souls who together, attempt to mend the shattered pieces of their pasts, which threaten to haunt their future. It was an extremely heartfelt book that deals with some serious issues.
Damaged is a highly entertaining and highly captivating read and I found myself so consumed with the story and incredibly anxious to find out how the relationship between Peter and Sidney would unfold. This is a must read book. My only fault would be that I felt very bereft when I finished the book, as I was not at all ready for it to end! I will now be biting my nails waiting for the sequel!
